2016

Eva-Maria directed a semi-scenic version of Bluebeards Castle and the new Peter Eötvös opera Senza Sangue with Bergen National Opera and Gothenburg Simphony Orchestra.

Eva-Maria wass nominated for the 2016 International Opera Awards, Young Director.

2015

Eva-Maria directed “Helte og Skurke” at The Danish National Opera october 2o15.

Babel was nominated for the danish theaterprize Reumert 2015 in the Category Best Opera.

She staged the Uraufführung “Sol går op sol går ned” by danish composer Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgren at Takkelloftet at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen January 2015.

2014

Eva-Maria directed the Uraufführung of “Biblioteket i Babel” by the icelandic-german composer Steingrimur Rohlof with Athelas Sinfonietta at Hofteatret at the Parliament in Copenhagen. Premiere was on november the 7th. 2014.

2012-2013

Eva-Maria has been given a grant for her future work from the Danish Agency for Culture in May 2013.

She was the responsible director for the revival of “Cavalleria Rusticana” directed by Kasper Holten and “Pagliacci” directed by Paul Curran at the Norwegian Opera in Oslo 2013.

She participated at the talentcamp for film-directors at the filmfestival OFF12 in Denmark.

She joined the ENOA worskshop for opera-stage directors in München march 2012

2011

2th. of december 2011 Eva-Maria premiered two operas in Denmark by two american composers “Before Breakfast” by Thomas Pasatieri and “The Stronger” by Hugo Weisgall

In october 2011 Eva-Maria participated in an ENOA workshop for stage-directors at Theater Wilki in Warshaw, Polen

She was a participant at “Opera en Creation” 2011 at the festival in Aix-en -Provence.

During jan/feb 2011 Eva-Maria was the revival-director of “Le Contes d´Hoffmann”, originally directed by Nicholas Joel, at Den Ny Opera, Bergen.

2009-2010

From january to may 2009 she worked at the Royal Opera in Denmark as an assistant director of the artistic director Kasper Holten, for whom she also directed “Le Nozze di Figaro in Bergen”, Norway 2010. As well as she was responsible for the tour across Denmark. She joined Kasper Holten in Budapest summer 2009 while the opera movie “Juan”, that premiered spring 2011, was filmed.

Furthermore she has assisted at the Royal Opera in Denmark in productions such as “Skin Deep” directed by Richard Jones, and “Don Carlos” directed by Kasper Holten

2004-2008

After her graduation in 2008 she has herself directed “Le Nozze di Figaro” in a chamber-version and Francesca Caccini’s “La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall´isola di Alcina” at Confidencen in Stockholm (seen by more than 3500 kids throughout Sweden) – both operas re-premiered in 2009. Her debut in 2008 was “Dido and Aeneas” which she also directed in Denmark the year after. In 2007 she directed “Don Giovanni” at a smaller Theater in Stockholm.

2002-2004

Before her studies in Stockholm, Eva-Maria lived in both Germany and Italy. At Bühnen der Landeshauptstadt Kiel she practised and worked as an assistant director 2002-2003 and in Italy she studied at Università per Stranieri di Perugia 2003-2004.

Her first own experience with Opera was the self-written – and directed – opera production with music composed by Rasmus Zwicki on the theme of “The Little Mermaid”, which was the end-production at the

Waldorf School where Eva-Maria finished in 2002.
